Who You Will Work With:

The vacant Business Systems Analyst role will report to Leader Process and Operational Excellence as part of a team providing operational oversight for the Real Time Rail payments systems

What You Will Do:

Understand business needs

  • Meet with stakeholders to understand problems, objectives, and desired outcomes

  • Understand business processes, policies, and controls

Gather and document requirements

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and process reviews

  • Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements

  • Write user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and requirements specifications

Analyze business processes

  • Map current-state (“as-is”) and design future-state (“to-be”) processes

  • Identify gaps, redundancies, manual work, and opportunities for automation

  • Recommend process improvements

  • Translate between business and IT

  • Explain technical concepts to business stakeholders

  • Explain business requirements to developers, architects, and technical teams

  • Resolve ambiguity ensuring everyone has the same understanding of the requirement

Define system solutions

  • Help determine how systems should support business processes.

  • Evaluate configuration vs. customization vs. new functionality.

Support development and implementation

  • Clarify requirements for developers

  • Review proposed solutions against business requirements.

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement and demos

  • Help manage scope and requirements changes.

Testing and quality assurance

  • Develop or review test scenarios and acceptance criteria

  • Support system/integration testing and UAT.

  • Validate that the delivered solution meets requirements

  • Help investigate and resolve defects.

Stakeholder management

  • Facilitate workshops and decision-making

  • Manage conflicting requirements and priorities.

  • Obtain stakeholder approval/sign-off.

Documentation and governance

  • Maintain requirements, process diagrams, decision logs, and system documentation

What You Bring:

  • 3 to 4 years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity

The hiring range for this position is $120,000 - $135,000, and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, but Interac’s commitment goes beyond compensation.
