About Deck

Deck is building the data infrastructure for the internet. We make scattered, login-protected data instantly accessible through clean APIs and integrations—empowering businesses to act fast and smart, with no friction.

We’re a team of builders from top-tier tech companies who believe one thing: great ideas need great data. If you thrive in early-stage chaos, own your work like a founder, and think in frameworks—not features—Deck might be your next home.

About the Role

As a Senior Browser Automation Engineer, you will be the architect of the custom browser infrastructure that powers our data aggregation engine. We strictly operate under authenticated portals, meaning our agents face some of the most sophisticated security and bot detection systems in the world. Your primary challenge will be to build a robust, Chromium-based environment where maintaining a consistent and authentic browser fingerprint is paramount. You will ensure our AI agents can reliably access, navigate, and operate within these high-security environments at scale.

What You'll Do
  • Browser Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain a custom Chromium fork optimized for heavy data aggregation workloads within authenticated sessions.

  • Fingerprint Consistency & Management: Design and implement advanced systems to generate and maintain highly consistent browser fingerprints. This is a key performance indicator, as our agents must maintain persistent, trusted identities to operate effectively within authenticated portals.

  • Detection Resilience: Engineer solutions to bypass world-class security systems. You will deep-dive into modern detection mechanisms to ensure our automation is indistinguishable from human behavior.

  • Automation Framework Development: Extend browser automation APIs (CDP, WebDriver) to support complex, stateful interactions required for navigating authenticated workflows.

  • Performance & Scalability: Optimize browser instances for high-reliability headless operation, ensuring stability during long-running data extraction sessions.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in browser engineering, web security, or related fields.

  • Deep understanding of Chromium/Chrome architecture and internals (Blink, V8, network stack).

  • Strong proficiency in C++ and experience working with large codebases.

  • Expertise in browser fingerprinting techniques (Canvas, WebGL, AudioContext, Navigator APIs) and counter-fingerprinting strategies.

  • Knowledge of web security mechanisms, advanced bot detection systems, and behavioral analysis.

  • Experience with browser automation tools (Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, CDP).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to reverse-engineer complex security systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working on browser forks or modifications.

  • Background in web security research or red team experience.

  • Familiarity with ML-based detection systems.

  • Experience with proxy infrastructure and network-level fingerprinting.

  • Contributions to open-source browser automation projects.

Tech Stack

C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Chromium, V8, Blink, CDP (Chrome DevTools Protocol), WebDriver, Node.js
