As part of a newly established Business Compliance function, this role will work closely with business stakeholders and Corporate Compliance to help identify, assess, monitor, and manage regulatory compliance risks.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to the business, helping stakeholders understand regulatory requirements, assess risks, strengthen controls, and address compliance issues in a practical and sustainable manner. • Plan and conduct testing engagements, including evidence gathering, control assessments, issue identification, remediation validation, and reporting.

  • Facilitate discussions with business stakeholders to assess control effectiveness, understand business processes, and identify opportunities to strengthen compliance outcomes.

  • Lead compliance risk assessment workshops and support the completion of inherent risk assessments, control effectiveness assessments, and residual risk evaluations.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify, document, and enhance controls designed to manage regulatory compliance risks.

  • Complete Business Impact Assessments and support the implementation and tracking of regulatory change initiatives.

  • Identify compliance issues and support root cause analysis, remediation planning, action plan tracking, and closure activities.

  • Provide practical advice and guidance to business stakeholders on compliance-related requirements, risks, and controls.

  • Build collaborative working relationships with Corporate Compliance and other control functions to support effective management of regulatory compliance risk.

  • Prepare compliance analysis, testing summaries, management insights, and other materials to support reporting and governance activities.

  • Contribute to process improvements and help enhance the effectiveness, consistency, and maturity of Business Compliance practices.

  • Apply sound judgment and a pragmatic, risk-based approach when addressing compliance challenges and supporting business decision-making.

What you bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, monitoring and testing, internal controls, or a related financial services discipline.

  • Experience conducting compliance testing, control assessments, risk assessments, or other assurance activities within a regulated environment.

  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, testing methodologies, and the three lines of defence model.

  • Experience evaluating business processes and identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and compliance outcomes.

  • Ability to facilitate discussions, challenge constructively, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with business partners, compliance, risk, audit, and other stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a changing environment.

  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.

  • Experience supporting regulatory change initiatives, issue management activities, or compliance program enhancements is an asset.

  • Experience using Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platforms is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Canadian banking regulations, regulatory expectations, and regulatory compliance management practices.

We’re always looking for great talent! In addition to competitive pay, we offer:

  • Comprehensive benefits and retirement programs

  • Performance incentives, Continuing Education Programs

  • Other perks to support your well-being

  • Career growth opportunities and product discounts
