The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and motivated actuarial professional to join our dynamic, high-performing Commercial P&C Pricing team.

The Commercial P&C Pricing team plays a critical role in driving the profitability and growth of Aviva’s Commercial insurance portfolio. Through advanced actuarial analysis, predictive modeling, and data-driven insights, we support strategic pricing decisions across a diverse range of Property and Casualty products. Our work directly influences business performance and helps shape the future of Commercial insurance at Aviva.

As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will contribute to key pricing initiatives while partnering closely with business stakeholders, Data Science, and underwriting teams to deliver impactful solutions.

What you’ll do:
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Head Office and the field. Understand stakeholder needs and develop tailored analytical solutions that maximize business value.

  • Maintain and enhance SAS-based pricing processes and tools. Drive process improvements and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and analytical capability.

  • Coach and mentor junior analysts and co-op students

  • Contribute actively to Aviva’s actuarial community

Pricing & Portfolio Management: Lead and support rate reviews across a variety of commercial products, coverages, and market segments.

  • Develop clear, data-driven pricing recommendations and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders to gain alignment and support for proposed actions.

Predictive Analytics & Model Development: Collaborate with Data Science teams to develop, enhance, and validate predictive models that improve pricing accuracy and effectiveness.

  • Balance technical rigor with business objectives to ensure practical, high-impact solutions.

  • Translate complex analytical concepts into clear business insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Small Business Pricing: Support the growth and profitability of Aviva's Small Business portfolio, including pricing initiatives within Ally.

  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing sophistication and portfolio performance.

What you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum 3 years of P&C actuarial experience, preferably in pricing.

  • Completion of at least 3 SOA or CAS exams, with continued progress toward designation.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability to communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proficiency in programming and data analysis; experience with SAS is required, while VBA, Python, R, or other analytical tools are considered assets.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a collaborative environment.

What you’ll get:
  • The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
