As a Senior Actuarial Advisor specializing in investments, you will play a key role in asset‑liability management (ALM), investment performance analysis, risk management and financial projections, working closely with the Investments, Finance and Business Services teams.

What you’ll accomplish with us
As a Senior Actuarial Advisor, you will be at the core of our mission. The main responsibilities include:

Actuarial and financial analysis – Investments:

  • Conduct analyses related to asset‑liability management (ALM), portfolio performance and risk management.

  • Assess the impact of investment strategies on liabilities, capital and financial results.

  • Develop and monitor performance and risk indicators tailored to management’s needs.


Financial projections and modeling

  • Develop and monitor performance and risk indicators tailored to management’s needs.

    • the budgeting process,

    • the financial health review,

    • the capital ratio,

    • financial analyses presented to management and partners.

  • Develop and monitor performance and risk indicators tailored to management’s needs.

 

Tools, data and automation

  • Use analytical tools, including Python, to automate and strengthen certain actuarial and financial analyses.

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of monitoring dashboards (e.g., Power BI) for internal partners and senior management.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of data quality, consistency and traceability.


Collaboration and communication

  • Act as a point of contact between teams responsible for calculating actuarial liabilities and investment managers.

  • Simplify complex analyses and present results to senior management.

  • Recommend actions to improve performance and risk management.

  • Contribute to the preparation of communications related to financial results and external disclosure.

 

Cross‑functional projects and initiatives

  • Participate in various special projects within the Investments sector, including:

    • the transition to new accounting standards,

    • the improvement and integration of processes,

    • the optimization of analytical practices.


What could accelerate your success in this role
We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is recognized for excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, rigor, autonomy, strong priority management, collaborative mindset and results orientation

  • Stands out for the ability to understand, structure and clearly communicate complex actuarial, financial and investment issues to various stakeholders, including senior management

  • Demonstrates strong expertise in investments and asset‑liability management (ALM), as well as a solid understanding of capital, risk and financial performance issues

  • Is recognized for expertise in actuarial and financial analysis, including the use of analytical and modeling tools, with knowledge of Python and Power BI (important asset) and Axis (asset)

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and has a minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, including an investment profile

  • Holds the FCIA and/or FSA designation (important asset), as well as a CFA profile or equivalent investment experience (asset)

  • Has an advanced level of proficiency in French and English, as the role requires daily use of both languages, including presenting analyses and financial results in English to internal teams, partners and members of senior management

The typical hiring range for this position is between $110 000 and $160 000 CAD per year; the base salary offered may vary depending on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role. At iA, we are committed to offering a fair, equitable, and market-based compensation structure. Our market data is updated annually to reflect the most current market conditions.
