Emburse is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development and quality assurance, designing and implementing robust automated testing frameworks that ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our applications. As an SDET, you’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to build efficient test solutions, drive continuous integration, and maintain a high standard of product quality across all releases.

What You’ll Do : 

  • Work as the quality champion and SDET within a product scrum team on a large-scale highly distributed enterprise software solution

    • Establish test plans/approach for features and functionality

    • Ensure code changes are thoroughly tested and released efficiently and with high quality

  • Conduct system/E2E testing, and coordinate and execute release and deployment activities for Emburse releases

  • Design and implement automation for integration and workflow tests

  • Assess load/performance testing requirements and create tests to exercise and evaluate system performance under load

  • Pair with developers to ensure applications and features are designed for testability

  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure our products and services are delivered with high quality

  • Participate in peer code reviews and identifying opportunities to improve the reliability and maintainability of our test automation architecture

What we're looking for

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant experience

    • 3+ years of Testing/Quality Engineering experience in software domain

    • Broad knowledge of Computer Science concepts and technologies 

    • Experience working in Scrum/Agile and DevOps environment

    • Experience designing and implementing automated tests using standard automation tools such as Pytest, Selenium, Playwright or others

    • Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages and concepts (Python, Java, etc..)

    • Comfortable with SQL and writing SQL queries 

    • Exposure to RESTful APIs and experience with Postman/Curl or other equivalent tools

    • Some experience with load/performance testing and tools

    • Able to find opportunities for improvement and tackle them without external direction

    • Experience with front-end and back-end automation frameworks (Selenium, QA Robot, Playwright, Pytest, RestAssured, etc…) 

    • Comfortable with CI/CD, build, package, configuration and release management tools (eg. Jenkins, Ansible, Gitlab/Github)

Bonus Points

    • Knowledge/Experience with K8S/Docker, AWS

    • Exposure to infrastructure observability tools such as Grafana, OpenSearch, Coralogix, Datadog
