Who You Will Work With:
The vacant Scrum Master role will report to the Practice Leader, Development - Interac Direct. The Scrum Master is accountable for enabling effective ways of working across one or more Agile squads by coaching teams in Agile principles and practices, driving continuous improvement in team effectiveness, and removing impediments that impact delivery. Through a collaborative leadership approach, the Scrum Master fosters trust, engagement, and professional growth while strengthening delivery practices and overall team performance.
What You Will Do:
Agile Coaching & Practice Adoption 20% - Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members on Agile values, principles, and practices to reinforce consistent ways of working and build confidence in Agile delivery. Promote strong understanding and adoption of Agile practices across the team to support effective collaboration, alignment, and ongoing improvement.
Ceremony Facilitation & Team Execution 10% - Facilitate Scrum events (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure they are effective, focused, and aligned with their intended outcomes. Maintain a steady delivery rhythm by keeping events well-structured, outcome-focused, and aligned to the team’s commitments.
Team Empowerment & Self-Management 10% - Foster a self-managing, cross-functional team culture by empowering team members to make decisions, collaborate effectively, and take shared ownership of outcomes. Encourage healthy team dynamics and shared accountability that support autonomy, trust, and high performance.
Impediment Removal & Stakeholder Influence 20% - Identify impediments that may impact team performance and support their resolution through collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Work with others across the organization to help ensure impediments are appropriately owned and addressed in a timely manner, supporting team flow, delivery predictability, and focus on agreed outcomes.
Continuous Improvement & Learning Culture 10% - Create an environment that supports continuous improvement and learning by reinforcing reflective practices and encouraging thoughtful experimentation. Support the team in identifying improvement opportunities, implementing changes, and sustaining progress toward more effective and mature Agile ways of working.
Backlog Refinement & Product Coaching 15% - Support Product Owners and teams in continuously refining and improving Product Backlog Items, including the use of well-defined user stories. Help clarify business value, strengthen acceptance criteria, and apply practices that enhance backlog quality and readiness for delivery.
Agile Metrics & Team Reporting 15% - Promote transparency by enabling the team to use meaningful metrics and visualizations to understand progress and delivery performance. Guide the team in leveraging flow-based indicators, such as flow efficiency, cycle time, and lead time, to support effective inspection, adaptation, and informed decision-making.
What You Bring:
5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably on the digital or mobile side of retail, in an Agile environment.
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
A University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field.
A Scrum Master certification - strong knowledge of Scrum and Agile principles/practices.
An understanding of product delivery and how a product is built and works.
Skills in negotiating and navigating difficult situations; you respond calmly and resourcefully to challenging situations, roadblocks, ambiguity, conflicts and change requests.
Expertise working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify challenges and develop effective strategies to realize goals and increase adoption of Agile values and principles.
Outstanding skills in formal, informal, large, small, verbal and written communications and can effectively influence and work with people at all levels.
A creative and process-oriented approach. You can help find pragmatic solutions to problems.
A drive to continuously improve and help others continuously improve. You can anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of internal and external product and project partners. You are a forward thinker and can innovate solutions to keep the work—and the business—moving forward.

Exposure to Agile software tools such as Atlassian, Jira and Confluence. Ideally, you also have experience with web, e-Commerce and mobile technologies.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
What We’re Offering:
The hiring range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, but Interac’s commitment goes beyond compensation.
