Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in financial crime compliance, specifically in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and consent orders. The ideal candidate will facilitate Agile methodologies within cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects aimed at enhancing our compliance framework and mitigating financial crime risks.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $100k – CAD $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Agile Leadership: Lead and coach multiple teams in Agile practices, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and methodologies.
  • Facilitation: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies to enhance team collaboration and productivity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and compliance stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables related to AML and KYC initiatives.
  • Compliance Expertise: Provide insights and guidance on AML and KYC regulations, ensuring that project requirements align with legal standards and best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with financial crime compliance projects, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, promoting feedback and innovation within teams to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Reporting: Track and report on project progress, team performance, and compliance metrics to senior management.
  • Training and Development: Mentor team members in Agile principles and financial crime compliance, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Experience Range: 10+ Years
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Senior Scrum Master, within the financial services or compliance sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of financial crime compliance, particularly AML, KYC, and consent order processes.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Skills:

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Soft skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with regulatory compliance tools and software.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and emerging risks related to financial crime.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP) are a plus.
