Job Summary

What is the opportunity?
The Regional Director, Marketing and Citizenship will help to advance RBC’s presence in local communities through strong donations, sponsorship, and consumer engagement activities. This role will be responsible for driving innovation in the community investment space, promoting strong and responsive relationships with our partners, while strengthening RBC’s brand-position across multiple audiences. Working collaboratively within RBC, the Director, will work closely the regional banking team and national office to develop an integrated portfolio of partners and strategy that supports both the business and ambitions of the RBC Purpose Framework.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Leads the regional marketing and citizenship strategy to drive brand engagement, social impact and support the growth strategy within priority segments. 
  • Leads the regional donation and sponsorship partnerships strategy, providing strategic council to the regional banking leadership team and other lines of business that are present in local communities where RBC operates.
  • In collaboration with National Office and Enterprise partners delivers on the execution of national brand, sustainability, and business initiatives at the regional and local level.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of the regional business priorities and successfully implements marketing and sponsorship activities to support them.
  • Proactively spots and acts on opportunities to improve public perception and drive brand consideration at the regional and local level.
  • Supports and promotes employee engagement activities as it pertains to community investment, sponsorship activation and volunteerism.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or has 10+ years’ experience.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a diverse network of partners, both inside and outside the bank.
  • Experience managing large sponsorships and client hosting events.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, who can create and communicate project and program plans across stakeholder groups internally and externally.
  • Excels in the ability to toggle between strategic thinking and executional excellence.
  • High emotional intelligence as it relates to partnership management.
  • Ability to story tell opportunities with a keen eye on seeking out opportunities to raise RBC’s profile in the community.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in grant making or deep understanding of the charitable sector.
  • Excellent public speaking/presentation and written skills.
  • Confidence working with senior enterprise leaders.
  • Experience working on complex partnerships.
  • Experience in the financial services sector.
