The Role:  

Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Recruiter (1 year contract) to join our Global Recruitment team! Reporting to our Manager, Global Recruitment, this person will be partnering across Kobo’s business units to identify top talent for our amazing team.  

 

You are driven with an interpersonal savvy that allows you to develop lasting relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. You will be responsible for identifying and generating pipelines of qualified candidates. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of roles across the entire organization. As a key member of the Global Recruitment team, you will see your contributions shape Rakuten’s growth and culture.   

 

What you’ll be doing:  

  • Manage full cycle recruiting process and ensure a seamless, consistent and positive candidate experience 
  • Source qualified candidates, review resumes and pre-screen candidates while moving the interview process forward in a timely manner  
  • Organize and facilitate interview debriefs  
  • Use competitive intelligence and industry knowledge to research and identify new recruiting channels   
  • Build strong partnerships with hiring managers and hiring teams to source and identify candidates that will excel at Rakuten Kobo    
  • Utilize LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruiting platforms in order to source top talent  
  • Drive offer approval, extension and negotiation   
  • Provide best in class candidate experience throughout the recruitment process 
  • Attend external recruitment events and career fairs when needed 

 

The Skillset:  

  • 3-5 years of recruitment experience preferable in both agency and corporate environments 
  • Experience recruiting for both technical and business roles  
  • Expert-level knowledge of applicant tracking systems (e.g. Workday), LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruiting technologies  
  • Ability to qualify a candidate and understand what each candidate brings to the table, and then connect that candidate with the right opportunity at Rakuten Kobo  
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle technical recruiting within a corporate environment working with multifunctional areas including technical  
  • You must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities  
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers  
  • Detail oriented and able to work with a high sense of urgency, within a fast paced environment   
  • Experience in international recruitment an asset
