The Queen’s Biomedical Innovation Team (QBiT) is an interdisciplinary design team that designs, prototypes, and tests innovative biomedical devices to address healthcare concerns both globally and within our local community.

Position Description: 

One Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be hired. The role of the COO is to oversee and manage QBiT’s internal team logistics and ensure operational success, including event planning and logistical coordination for conferences and competitions. 

The COO will oversee the Director of Business and the Director(s) of Science.  

Applicants not selected for COO may automatically be considered for Director of Business or Director of Science. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Organizing internal team events, workshops, and seminars 
  • Coordinating general member hiring with the Co-Captains 
  • Managing logistics for travel and accommodations for external conferences or competitions 
  • Supporting the CFO with sponsorship-related logistics 
  • Organizing and overseeing conference and competition applications  
  • Regularly attending executive meetings and providing updates 
  • Overseeing the Director of Business and Director(s) of Science, particularly with conference and competition applications 


Ideal qualities: 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities 
  • Experience planning events or coordinating logistics 
  • Team-oriented and proactive

Interviews will take place during June 21st, June 26th, June 27th and June 28th .
