As the Quality Assurance Engineering Manager, you will manage the Quality department to support operations to meet customer requirements functions at ASC-Canada in the PPG Aerospace business. Operations include added value packaging (seal caps, Semkits, Sempens, bottles, etc.), blend centre (topcoat) and shipping/receiving.
You will report to the ASC-Canada Business Director and help assure that the department activities are aligned towards supporting the goals, mission, and business strategies of the ASC Network, PPG Aerospace, and PPG.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure ASC’s compliance to NADCAP, AS9100 and customer requirements.

Manage the successful completion and passing of all audits.

Facilitate customer PCD reviews, audits and assessments.

Manage ASC Quality lab activities and personnel.

Member of the ASC leadership team (EHS LT, process improvement, LEAN).

Facilitate both internal and external, problem solving and corrective actions using LEAN/Six sigma methodologies as needed.

Manage customer complaints using PPG standard systems.

Provide input/guidance-based customer contractual quality requirements.

Work with other departments to develop work instructions, SOPs, etc.

Design and implement process control and continuous improvement programs on all ASC processes to improve quality and productivity.

Responsible for seal cap design including developing initial drawings, mold design, prototype manufacture, customer approval, scale up production, establishing quality & process parameters, and First Article Inspection.

Lead the ASC in utilizing PPG Quality Tools to solve problems through root cause analysis; track and improve quality through DOE & SPC.

Reduce waste and improve productivity through 5S; drive improvements through Rapid Improvement Workshops, Gantt charting & developing improvement plans.

Efficiently develop and utilize people, equipment, materials, utilities and budget to meet business objectives.

Managerial responsibilities with 2 direct reports.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent preferred.

8+ years of demonstrated experience.

SolidWorks and AutoCAD familiarity; Experience in statistical quality control or SPC.

Ability to collaborate with all levels, facilitate training and manage projects/deadlines.

Familiarity with utilizing computer equipment and software including Microsoft products.
