This is a 3-month contract position, with the possibility of extensions or internal growth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Audits the implementation of the quality system by verifying operational activities to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory specifications.
•    In conjunction with the QA Manager and QA Supervisor, implements the quality system detailed in the quality manual.
•    Champions the total quality improvement efforts and initiates problem solving efforts and assures implementation
•    Drives prevention vs. detection of defects. Coordinates actions to prevent the occurrences of nonconformities
•    Controls Food safety and Quality of processing and manufacturing within the business
•    Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specification and company policy and procedure. 

Qualifications
Education:
•    College degree in related discipline and knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and/or Quality Management

Job Skills:
Minimum skill requirements:

•    Detail oriented
•    Available to work various shifts including days, afternoons, nights and or weekends as required.
•    Able to work in a temperature-controlled environment (below 4 °C) for extended periods as required.
•    Intermediate level Microsoft office tool skills (Excel, Word)
•    Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods
•    Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
•    Strong interpersonal skills, interact well with multiple departments as required
•    Able to work with little supervision
•    Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills
Preferred skills:
•    Excellent analytical skills
•    Basic statistics calculation, and/or mathematical comprehension
•    Project management skills
•    HACCP certified and/or Food Safety training a plus
