Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the electrical team of the Building sector and will work closely with the mechanical and electrical team members in the London office along with other offices in the region. 
 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Act as an electrical technical lead on building projects across various sectors (educational, institutional, healthcare, 
• Act as the Professional Engineer on Record for the electrical scope and lead/support project meetings on behalf of EXP team.
  Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor.
• Prepare detailed designs for electrical systems using AutoCAD and REVIT
• Conduct detailed calculations such as voltage drop, photometrics, conductor and conduit sizing, and grounding to ensure that designs meet relevant engineering standards and applicable codes
• Perform complete interior and exterior lighting analysis using AGi32 and/or Visual.
• Prepare emergency lighting and exit signage layouts based on OBC requirements.Design grounding and lightning protection layouts.
• Design of electrical layouts for cable raceways/underground conduits, lighting, panel schedules design, lighting poles and base details, luminaire schedule, electrical grounding
• Design of fire alarm systems as per OBC and CSA standards.
• Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines (e.g. mechanical, civil, structural, architectural).
• Coordination of electrical requirements with access control and security system vendors.
• Preparing Contract documents, including specifications and cost estimates.
• Perform site visits and, providing site visit reports, respond to RFIs from contractors, review shop drawings.
   

What your experience looks like

• An Engineering degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited University, and P.Eng is required
• Minimum of (5) years continuous experience in detailed design and design consultancy
• Knowledge of IES-RP-8 and Roadway lighting and Parking lot lighting
• Experience with advanced lighting design tools (AGi32 and Visual)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT

• Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (OESC, CSA, OBC, NFPA,  and IEEE standards)

The base salary range for this role is between $90K to $100K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
