Project Director

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Deputy Project Director will support the delivery of the Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre, one of Canada’s most complex nuclear construction projects. This role will provide senior leadership across construction execution, safety, quality, project controls, stakeholder management and team integration.
This is a site-based leadership role in Chalk River, Ontario.What You Will Be Working On
  • Lead overall project execution, including safety, quality, schedule, cost, risk and stakeholder alignment.

  • Provide leadership to project teams, trade partners, consultants and client stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Help drive construction strategy, sequencing, logistics, resourcing and issue resolution.

  • Maintain visibility into project health, including critical path, productivity, KPIs, cost performance, risks and recovery plans.

  • Support a collaborative IPD environment with shared accountability, transparency and disciplined decision-making.

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure work is executed in line with project, client and regulatory expectations.

  • Support quality and compliance requirements, including inspection, documentation, verification and closeout.

  • Mentor and develop project team members while supporting workforce planning and succession

What We Are Looking For
  • Degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent experience.

  • 18 + years of progressive construction/project delivery experience.

  • 10+ years in a senior leadership role on major construction, EPC, power, nuclear, industrial or infrastructure projects.

  • Experience delivering projects valued at approximately $500M+.

  • Strong background in construction execution, project controls, scheduling, logistics, safety, quality, risk and stakeholder management.

  • Experience in nuclear, power generation, LNG, hydro, heavy industrial, or complex infrastructure projects is preferred.

  • Experience with IPD, alliance, joint venture or other collaborative delivery models is an asset.

  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to lead in a site-based, fast-moving, highly complex project environment.

  • Nuclear construction, nuclear refurbishment or highly regulated project experience.

  • Major EPC or power project experience.

  • Experience with complex mechanical, electrical, process, laboratory or commissioning scopes.

  • Experience managing large teams, trade partners and multi-disciplinary project interfaces
