Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our growing Rail & Transit team in Ontario. In this role, you will support the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects by providing coordination across project teams, stakeholders, and delivery partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional looking to build their career within a global consultancy committed to innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence. In Canada, our Rail & Transit team supports some of the region’s most transformative programs, partnering with clients such as Metrolinx and major municipalities to deliver integrated, sustainable mobility solutions.

Role accountabilities:

In this role you will provide essential coordination support across all phases of project delivery, from initial planning through to successful implementation. You will assist Project Managers by supporting key project controls, such as scheduling activities, tracking costs, and preparing regular progress reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation, including registers for risks, issues, and actions, as well as governance records that ensure compliance and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

You will play a pivotal role in coordinating internal and external stakeholder meetings, ensuring the preparation of relevant materials and capturing key outcomes and action items. By tracking progress against established project milestones, you will proactively identify and highlight potential risks or delays, enabling the project team to respond swiftly and effectively. Your support will extend to contract administration, procurement processes, and document control protocols, helping to maintain the integrity and efficiency of project operations.

Furthermore, in this role you will facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams—including engineering, systems, and program management—by promoting effective communication and shared understanding of project objectives. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging digital tools and innovative delivery methodologies to enhance project performance and outcomes. Your commitment to supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic improvements will be key to driving successful project delivery and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline
  • 3–7 years of experience in a project coordination or project support role, ideally within rail, transit, or major infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of project delivery frameworks and controls
  • Proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams and clients
  • Familiarity with Ontario transit programs and agencies (e.g., Metrolinx, TTC) is considered an asset
