Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team.

- Proven ability to supervise deliverables of project accountants in a matrix environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Principals in Charge regarding contract documents, change orders/add fees and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to billing
- Set up projects in Deltek based upon contract review and enrollment details
- Review budget, backlog and WIP throughout the life of the project
- Assist PIC’s with project planning and plan maintenance
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients with all applicable backup documents
- Review and communicate any unbilled issues to PM/PIC ensuring optimal billing possibilities for the billing period
- Follow up with client to ensure confirmation receipt of invoices are in good form
- Maintain projects folders with appropriate billing documents; contracts, additional fees, and monthly invoices
- Perform monthly revenue analysis, including WIP, backlog, and revenue recognition testing, and help PIC’s, and PM’s understand the results
- Communicate with cash receipts team to reconcile any variances of applied cash
- Close out projects upon completion
- Assist in the compilation of quarterly and annual internal and external audit binders
- Assist as directed; the Canada Regional Accountant
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of project accounting/billing experience
- Experience in engineering or other project-oriented firms preferred
- An understanding of revenue recognition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated with independent work habits
- Experience working in a deadline orientated and face paced office
- Working knowledge of Deltek Vision software would be an asset
