The Production planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, delivered on time, and aligned with customer demand, inventory targets, labor availability, and operational capacity. This role acts as a key link between operations, Supervisors, planning, OPL, procurement, ISC PM, and manufacturing teams.

You will report directly to our Sr Materials Mgmt Manager and you’ll work onsite out of our Cambridge, ON location.
 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  • Use the 1PS Schedule to understand ‘what’ needs to be done, and the Production Schedule is the ‘how’ to meet the requirement by product and cell 
  • Create the Work packages from the 1PS, manage hours with capacity. Post in the lab and work with area leads to ensure alignment and attainment 
  • Work with Material Planner for CTB and SITE 1PS Planner to sequence production orders to maximize skillsets, demand alignment and throughput.
  • Balance customer demand, inventory levels, skillset availability, and production capacity with the OPL.
  • Adjust schedules in response to material shortages, machine downtime, priority changes, or operational disruptions.
  • Release and monitor work orders.
  • Develop and maintain cell/operation capability matrix
  • Majority of time to be spent in the lab/operations ensuring the schedules are met
  • Analyze production capacity, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources to ensure efficient production operations. 
  • Recommend scheduling, line balancing, and workflow improvements to increase output, reduce idle time, and optimize production flow.
  • Coordinate with Material Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and uninterrupted production operations. 
  • Monitor inventory levels, support cycle count activities, and maintain inventory accuracy to prevent shortages, excess stock, and material discrepancies. 
  • Communicate production schedules, priorities, and risks to cross-functional teams, collaborating with procurement, quality, maintenance, logistics, and leadership to ensure on-time customer deliveries. 
  • Monitor production performance and schedule adherence, generate KPI reports and dashboards, and analyze trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

The Honeywell Aerospace building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and CSP security clearance.

MUST HAVE:

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Operations Management
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in production scheduling, planning, manufacturing, operations, or supply chain.

  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, forecasting)
  • Combination of office and lab presence (Majority in the lab)
  • May require schedule flexibility during peak production periods
  • Scheduling and capacity planning tools
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail
  • Decision-making under pressure

 
 

The annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 in Cambridge, ON. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell Aerospace considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
