By partnering with industry leaders, GHGSat leverages proprietary satellite data, aircraft imagery, and public data to provide unprecedented insights into the global emissions landscape. 

As GHGSat continues its journey to build the world's leading geospatial atmospheric data platform, we are seeking a Product Strategy Lead to join our Segment strategy team to serve as the Product Owner for the Climate Analytics vertical. This dual role combines strategic leadership and direct ownership of a product area that integrates emissions data with climate and financial insights to power decision-making across global markets. 

This position reports to the Chief Product Officer and is open to candidates in Canada or the United States, preferably within Eastern time zones to facilitate collaboration with our Montreal-based teams and support hybrid work (2 days in-office, as applicable). 

What You Will Do:

Segment Strategy & Market Insight 

  • Be the subject matter expert for the Industry client vertical; possess a deep understanding of user personas, workflows, and decision-making drivers for Industry clients. 
  • Maintain and update comprehensive market analyses including client needs, regulatory developments, competitive landscape & gap analysis, emerging trends. 
  • Evaluate business opportunities, competitive positioning, and market trends to help refine product-market fit. 
  • Attend key industry events and engage directly with clients and client-facing functions to gather insights and build a network of stakeholder relationships. 

Client Needs & Prioritization 

  • Partner with Sales to capture ongoing client requirements and prioritize them based on business impact. 
  • Triage client feedback and manage the backlog of enhancements to ensure alignment with client requests and strategic goals.  
  • Champion customer-centric design and data-driven decision-making to inform roadmap and business priorities.   

Solution Design & Roadmap Development 

  • Translate segment strategies into actionable product roadmaps. 
  • Collaborate with the Product Management & Science team to define solutions and capabilities addressing client challenges. 
  • Author Product Briefs to capture market problem, proposed solution, business impact for candidate product initiatives.   
  • Create business cases for strategic, resource intensive initiatives, including ROI analysis, to support roadmap prioritization and resource allocation. 
  • Support Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to enable go-to-market readiness, provide input on product messaging, and drive client adoption. 

Requirements

You Should Have 

  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to influence cross-functional teams. 
  • Proven experience in industry sectors involving emissions measurement, or working in sensor technology market, or as a Product Manager building and launching highly technical solutions (e.g., climate analytics/ESG, data solutions, remote sensing, cleantech). 
  • Customer-centric mindset with proven success in balancing technical feasibility and business value to make informed trade-offs. 
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage internal stakeholders, including executive level briefings, and external stakeholders (clients, trade organizations, NGOs).  
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a matrixed environment. 

Your Background 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, computer science, or a related technical discipline. 
  • 8–10+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, or industry roles, ideally combining technical expertise with market-facing responsibilities. 
  • Demonstrated success in developing or managing data analytics or intelligence products serving industrial sectors.  
  • Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks and product management tools. 
  • Experience working with satellite/geospatial technologies, environmental or climate datasets is a strong asset.
