Job Description

This Product Manager role will have an initial focus on Email & Newsletters, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of our outbound email operations, unifying both our editorial newsletters and our diverse commercial properties (including Travel Alerts, Save.ca, The Kit, Wonderlist). Your mission is to build a seamless, efficient engine that drives both reader engagement and new revenue streams, balancing technical deliverability with strong product positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Holistic Email Strategy: Architect a unified product roadmap that bridges our editorial newsletters and commercial email brands, identifying synergies and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Editorial Product Strategy: Partner closely with newsroom leadership to design, launch, and iterate on editorial newsletters that drive reader habituation and subscription conversion.
  • Deliverability & Infrastructure: Oversee enterprise ESP management, ensuring robust sender reputation, optimal inbox placement, and technical excellence across all outbound channels.
  • Audience Growth & Compliance: Develop list growth strategies while establishing rigorous protocols for CASL compliance, data privacy, and legal opt-in language.

Qualifications

We are seeking a product leader with a blend of intellectual curiosity and operational persistence. You should be a "doer" who isn't afraid to get into the details to solve a problem, capable of pivoting smoothly between technical deliverability audits and high-level commercial positioning.

What you need to be successful:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a product manager, preferably working on large, consumer-facing digital products
  • Proven ability to develop and execute on long-range product roadmaps, develop milestone plans and prioritize backlogs
  • Expertise in agile development methodologies and a proven ability to write detailed epics and user stories
  • Strong analytics skills and the ability to use data to derive product insights
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a comfort collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders at a matrixed organization
  • Comfort conducting customer research through interviews, surveys and usability tests and using the research to inform product direction
  • Able to lead all stages of product life cycle, from discovery to development to launch and continuing optimization
  • Able to work closely with UX/UI designers to create product experiences that customers will love

You are the right fit if:

  • You Are a Systems Thinker: You can look at disparate editorial and commercial lists and build a unified technical architecture that scales efficiently.
  • You Balance Revenue and UX: You intuitively understand the tension between driving monetization and preserving audience trust, and you can build products that serve both masters.
  • You Possess Unwavering Grit: You understand that meaningful change takes time and pressure.
  • Expertise: You have a proven track record in email product management, with deep knowledge of deliverability, modern ESPs, CRM integrations, and commercial product development.
