Blue J is the leading generative AI solution for tax professionals and one of Canada's fastest-growing AI companies. Headquartered in Toronto, we're a high-growth B2B SaaS company building industry-leading tax research software that helps accountants find accurate answers to complex tax questions with greater speed and confidence.
Backed by a $122M USD Series D funding round, we're scaling rapidly across North America and the UK while continuing to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI. By combining advanced technology with deep tax expertise, we empower tax professionals to work more efficiently, make better decisions, and deliver greater value to their clients.
This is a hybrid role based in Toronto. We’re looking for someone who can join us in-office 2 times per week in our downtown office, while also enjoying flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
This is a unique opportunity to join Blue J at a stage of rapid growth, taking on dedicated ownership of a key part of our product roadmap. Working day-to-day with a cross-functional team (Product, Design, Engineering) and partnering closely with engineering leadership, you'll bridge the gap between initial discovery and long-term product success. You'll shape how tax professionals experience Blue J day to day, building the strategy and systems that turn core product value into consistent and lasting usage.
- Partner with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to help define and execute the product roadmap, from concept through launch.
- Understand the competitive landscape and evaluate market trends to inform product strategy and prioritization.
- Engage with end users and internal stakeholders to identify pain points, market opportunities, and unmet needs.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches.
- Become an expert on our clients and end users, using a mix of quantitative and qualitative research to shape product requirements and improvements.
- Write clear specs and user stories, and work closely with engineering to scope, sequence, and ship features.
- Establish, monitor, and measure success metrics after launch, and consistently incorporate usage data and customer feedback into product decisions.
- Communicate roadmap, priorities, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders across the organization.
- 5+ years of product management experience in a B2B SaaS company, with a solid technical foundation
- Comfortable engaging deeply with engineers on architecture, trade-offs, and implementation details, and experience taking products from concept to launch alongside a software engineering team.
- Comfortable balancing qualitative and quantitative inputs (user research, data analysis, market trends) to make prioritization calls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) to align diverse audiences around a shared direction.
- Enjoys working across teams in a collaborative environment, with a high level of diplomacy and tact.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, improve workflows, and stay ahead of industry trends.
- A rare opportunity to make a difference and help shape the future of our product.
- A mission-driven culture where your work directly advances clarity, efficiency, and accessibility in tax research.
- Competitive base salary, stock options, and benefits designed to support you and your family.
- A collaborative, ambitious, and supportive team that values innovation, respect, and fun.
- The excitement of a fast-growing, well-funded company with clear momentum, and the resources to back bold initiatives.
- We are customer-focused
- We put team over self
- We are pleasant and playful
- We are open to better ideas
- We move fast and fix things
