Our team is a collection of ambitious, collaborative and mission-driven people from all walks of life but with one goal: helping Canadian companies not just survive but thrive. And we’re looking for bold innovators to help shape the future of business finance in Canada.

AI Use in Our Hiring Process

We use technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to support parts of our hiring process. This may include AI-assisted scheduling and candidate communications, and AI-generated interview notes, guides or summaries to help our team focus on the conversation. All hiring decisions are made by our hiring team.

About the Role

Float is building the unified financial platform for Canadian businesses. As we scale Cards, Business Accounts, Bill Pay, and adjacent financial services, the strength of our platform foundations will determine how quickly and reliably we can deliver value across the product portfolio.

We’re hiring a Product Manager, Platform to own the platform roadmap and execution across Core Product Platform, Integrations, and Financial Services Infrastructure. This role exists to accelerate every other product team at Float. Success is measured not by feature output, but by increased delivery velocity, reliability, and reuse across the company.

This is a staff-level player-coach role. You’ll operate at a strategic altitude while directly contributing to execution on critical platform initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Define and own the multi-quarter platform roadmap aligned to Float’s company strategy and long-term platform vision.

  • Ensure platform investments measurably accelerate delivery for Cards, Business Accounts, Bill Pay, and future product verticals.

  • Directly drive high-leverage platform initiatives from problem definition through launch.

  • Partner closely with Engineering leads to shape architecture trade-offs that optimize for speed and long-term scalability.

  • Operate in lockstep with Product Leads, CTO, and Head of Product to ensure consistent execution across priorities.

  • Establish clear intake, prioritization, and dependency management processes between platform and feature squads.

  • Own measurable outcomes across delivery velocity, internal adoption of platform services, payments uptime, and platform reliability.

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate discovery, synthesize stakeholder input, draft crisp requirements, and model roadmap scenarios.

What Success Looks Like (6-12 Months)
  • Feature teams ship faster because core primitives already exist and are reliable.

  • Platform is viewed internally as a force multiplier, not a bottleneck.

  • Platform investments demonstrably contribute to seamless cross-product experiences.

  • Accounting integrations are deeply trusted and scale cleanly with mid-market and ERP customers.

  • Payments and ledger-adjacent systems are robust enough to support increased platform scale without incident-driven slowdowns.

  • Clear platform metrics exist and improve over time: velocity, adoption/reuse, uptime, reliability, and reduced operational drag.

What We’re Looking For
  • You Put Customers First - including internal product teams. You build leverage that improves end-customer experiences across products.

  • You Act Like an Owner. You take accountability for outcomes (velocity, reliability, adoption), not just roadmaps.

  • You Think in Systems. You’re comfortable with architecture trade-offs, failure modes, and second-order effects.

  • You Have Strong Commercial Intuition. You understand how infrastructure decisions impact revenue, retention, adoption, and trust.

  • You’re a Player-Coach. You can operate strategically while directly driving execution.

  • You’re AI-First. You actively use AI tools to improve speed, clarity, and decision quality; you adapt your workflow as tools evolve.

In addition to living our values, you bring:
  • 5+ years in product management, with significant experience in platform, infrastructure, fintech, payments, or API-heavy environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at system-level depth, including ledger models, reconciliation logic, integrations, and uptime-critical systems.

  • Proven ability to influence senior engineering leadership and operate effectively in ambiguity.

  • Track record of shipping cross-team capabilities adopted at scale.

This may not be the role for you if…
  • You prefer shipping visible features over building cross-team leverage.

  • You struggle to tie platform work to business outcomes and measurable metrics.

  • You’re attached to specific solutions over outcomes and adoption.

  • You’re resistant to AI-enabled workflow change.

Our Hiring Philosophy
  • Values > Aptitude > Skills

  • Slope > Intercept

  • Collective Bar Raising

We hire for character, curiosity, and learning velocity before credentials. Titles matter less than impact, and every hire is expected to raise the bar for Float as a whole.

Why You Should Join
  • Work at one of Canada's fastest-growing fintech companies

  • Make a real impact in a high-autonomy, high-growth role

  • Collaborate with an ambitious and supportive team

  • Competitive compensation, equity options, and benefits

  • Hybrid work model – we are based in Toronto with in-office days for connection and collaboration

  • Enjoy catered team lunches every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

  • Bring your pup to our dog-friendly office

  • Thrive in a high-trust, high-performance culture where your work truly matters

In Short

At Float, you’ll thrive if you’re bold, curious, and eager to make a real impact. We're building something special—and having a lot of fun along the way. If you’re excited to build, grow, and win together, we’d love to meet you.

We’re committed to building a workplace that’s welcoming and accessible for everyone. If you need any accommodations during the hiring process or once you join Float, just let us know! You can reach out to Vic ([email protected]), and we’ll work with you to make sure you have what you need to succeed.
