About the Role

Join our dynamic team at Instacart Business and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital B2B ordering experiences for the food and beverage industry. As a Product Designer on this team, you'll leverage Instacart’s leading edge grocery technology and unparalleled grocery expertise to empower businesses with seamless order tracking and management solutions. You’ll partner with other designers and cross-functional partners to understand how we need to evolve the Instacart platform to increase brand awareness, convert customers to business accounts, and support business-specific needs. Your creativity and innovation will be at the forefront, driving the development of features that expand our service capabilities and deliver unmatched value to our growing portfolio of business clients. 


About the Team -

The Instacart Business team is dedicated to revolutionizing the digital B2B ordering experience within the food and beverage industry. By leveraging Instacart's unique expertise, we cater to all facets of the supply chain, from same-day fulfillment to effortless order placement and dynamic demand generation.

 

Our Instacart Design Team is an innovative and collaborative group comprising Product Designers, Content Designers, Researchers, and Program Managers. United by a passion for design excellence, we are committed to making grocery shopping as seamless and effortless as possible. We distinguish ourselves by delivering extraordinary results in ordinary tasks, always driven by curiosity, empathy, and creativity in our pursuit of excellence.


About the Job 

  • Collaborate proactively with Product and Engineering teams to define, refine, and translate complex business challenges into strategic solution requirements, addressing a diverse array of business needs.
  • Develop a diverse range of design explorations, showcasing creative solutions that expertly balance swift execution with high-quality outputs.
  • Utilize the Instacart Design System to craft designs embodying high standards of visual excellence and intuitive interaction.
  • Innovate near-term product solutions that not only drive product experimentation but also contribute to the strategic, long-term vision in collaboration with fellow designers.
  • Actively participate in team critiques and product review forums, articulating design rationale clearly and embracing constructive feedback to enhance design iterations.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding project status, collaborating with your team and manager to effectively manage priority changes and resolve conflicts.
  • Employ a variety of compelling storytelling techniques to effectively communicate your work, influencing decision-making and guiding project direction.

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Over 3 years of experience in digital product design, with a proven track record of working across both mobile and web platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing business metrics through the delivery of clear, effective, and user-centered design solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, excelling in cross-functional collaboration to address and solve complex challenges.
  • Expertise in visual design, with a keen attention to detail and a solid grasp of WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Highly adaptable, with experience in reprioritizing projects and strategies to meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Proficient in maintaining comprehensive design documentation, ensuring smooth collaboration in both synchronous and asynchronous remote work environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with designing B2B products and services, navigating the unique needs of clients alongside scalable solutions
  • Experience with motion design and prototyping
