About Opendoor

At Opendoor our mission is to tilt the world in favor of homeowners and those who aim to become one. Homeownership matters. It's how people build wealth, stability, and community. It's how families put down roots, how neighborhoods strengthen, how the future gets built. We're building the modern system of homeownership giving people the freedom to buy and sell on their own terms. We’ve built an end-to-end online experience that has already helped thousands of people and we’re just getting started.

About the role
Opendoor is scaling a technology-forward business, and procurement is critical to helping teams move quickly while protecting the company’s economics. We’re looking for a Procurement Specialist to own commercial execution across indirect spend, with particular emphasis on IT/SaaS and broader categories such as professional services, marketing, HR, and corporate vendors.

You will drive contracts from intake through signature, negotiate strong commercial outcomes, assess and escalate risk, and create practical paths for the business to move forward. You’ll partner across Finance, Legal, IT, and business teams while using Ramp and other procurement tools, automation, and AI to improve contract velocity, spend visibility, compliance, and vendor performance.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage requests and POs, move commercial contracts forward, apply sound judgment within established guardrails, and help improve a scalable procurement operating model.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations across indirect-spend categories, balancing price, flexibility, protections, and appropriate risk.
  • Negotiate and manage a range of agreement types, including MSAs, SOWs, order forms, and SaaS agreements.
  • Proactively address commercial issues such as payment terms, auto-renewals, usage-based pricing, termination rights, SLAs, service credits, and price increases.
  • Apply established procurement and Legal contract-review guardrails so routine matters move efficiently, while material legal, privacy, financial, or operational risk is escalated early with a clear recommendation.
  • Manage P2P and S2C workflows in Ramp or comparable procurement platforms; process requests and POs while maintaining momentum on contracts.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and business teams to improve spend visibility, vendor compliance, and supplier performance.
  • Identify opportunities to use automation and AI responsibly for contract review, templating, high-level risk review, and procurement-workflow improvement.

What you'll need

  • Demonstrated experience owning indirect procurement and commercial-contract decisions from intake through signature in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience across multiple contract types and a working command of commercial terms, including payment terms, renewals, usage-based pricing, limitation of liability, indemnification, data protection/DPAs, IP ownership, SLAs, service credits, and termination rights.
  • A track record of negotiating meaningful commercial improvements, managing cost and renewal exposure, and making sound risk tradeoffs.
  • Experience with a procurement platform or purchasing system. Ramp experience is a plus; NetSuite experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong commercial judgment: you can distinguish routine commercial decisions from issues that require Legal, Finance, or leadership involvement.
  • High ownership and bias for action: you can manage ambiguous, high-volume work, set priorities, and keep stakeholders accountable for momentum.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex contractual issues into practical business decisions.
  • Comfort using—or genuine curiosity about using—AI responsibly to improve procurement processes and contract work.

Location
This role is based in one of our offices, in-person four days per week. We're looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about an in-office culture; people who want to build alongside their teammates, not from a distance.
