The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for Fastfrate Holdings Inc., the Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing for the comprehensive procurement and material management standards, policies and procedures for the various group of companies including Fastfrate, Canada Drayage, ASL and, Challenger. Ensure system implementation and process improvements are refined to support consistent and effective procurement objectives for the group.

Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee and direct the activities and resources required to execute procurement strategies meeting the group’s requirements.
- Manage the requests for proposals/quotations, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements.
- Develop strategies and processes around material / supply purchasing and material management which align with cost reduction objectives for the group.
- Establish supplier, vendor and contractor relationships to optimize the breadth of procurement requirements for the group.
- Oversee vendor management including documentation, pricing and managing vendor-specific issues.
- Negotiate contract and pricing with key suppliers, vendors and contractors.
- Review existing contracts with suppliers, vendors and contractors to ensure on-going feasibility and alignment with group’s cost objectives.
- Initiate continuous improvement activities of internal processes to ensure effectiveness of purchasing efforts
- Identify productivity improvement opportunities for the procurement services, facilitating cost savings, improved processes and enhanced services
- Provide guidance to groups on sourcing and purchasing processes
- Perform other duties which may be assigned
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:
- 5+ years’ experience in Procurement management
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in a large distribution company
- Diploma/Certification with a post-secondary institution with Finance, Business or Accounting focus.
- SCMP Designation (Supply Chain Management Professional) considered an asset
- Well versed in strategic sourcing, procurement negotiations, cost management, contract management
- Possess an analytical, problem-solving, organization skills and result driven mindset
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues
- Willingness to lead by example with a desire to “roll-up the sleeves” and dig into the details when necessary
- Team oriented individual who is willing to assist with tasks that may not explicitly fall under their area of responsibility or expertise
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Able to maintain productive work habits from office or when working remotely
