The Privacy Manager supports the Privacy Office by managing a comprehensive privacy program and contributing to the continuous improvement of enterprise privacy management. Supporting the Chief Privacy Officer and working alongside the GLC (Governance, Legal, Compliance, and Privacy) team, and collaborating with other business units including Information Security, Risk, Data and Analytics, and Internal Audit teams, the Privacy Manager's responsibilities include fostering strong relationships across various business units to enable, facilitate, and enhance organization-wide privacy risk management and compliance, while maturing the privacy program.
What will you do?
- Manage and mature a comprehensive enterprise-wide Privacy program.
- Supervise and develop direct reports, including a Privacy Specialist
- Enable and facilitate privacy-by-design, including impact assessments for business initiatives and new privacy requirements.
- Partner with business units to enhance enterprise privacy risk management and compliance and facilitate data governance.
- Support the Chief Privacy Officer with consulting, and managing access, breach, and complaint responses.
- Supervise the monitoring and testing of adherence to privacy controls within business units, including monitoring issue mitigation and escalation, as needed.
What will you need?
- 5+ years of experience managing privacy compliance required
- Privacy accreditation, IAPP CIPP/C, CIMP or equivalent certification required, and CISA would be an asset
- 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, cyber risk, data risk preferred
- Community college diploma or an undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, finance/commerce or law preferred
- Maintain a professional, mature demeanor with high diplomacy and communicate clearly and professionally
- Proactively prioritize, independently deliver on priorities, and effectively delegate to direct reports
- Ability to successfully adapt to changes and manage competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with privacy management technology platforms, including Onspring is considered an asset
