A Day in the LifeAs Financial Analyst in our Global Supply Chain Finance CoE (Center of Excellence) you’ll be supporting our financial views and process on Freight & Duties. You’ll not only work with Finance leaders but also work closely with Transportation, Supply Chain, Analytics & Insights to drive financial performance, forecasting, reporting, governance, and decision support. With your strong financial and analytical skills and the ability to influence stakeholders, lead initiatives, drive accountability, and deliver results in a complex global environment, you’ll help Medtronic to keep our costs under control.
You’ll work in a hybrid format, both in our office in Heerlen being close to the supply chain partners and our distribution center (for a minimum of two days a week), and with a possibility to working from home.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Financial Planning & Performance Management: Lead forecasting, planning, month end closing and reporting processes for Freight & Duties
  • Develop financial models and driver-based forecasting methodologies and analyse financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Partner with Transportation, Supply Chain, Analytics & Insights and Finance stakeholders to support business decisions, translate operational drivers into meaningful financial insights and provide clear and concise communication to both finance and non-finance audiences. With these teams, drive accountability through strong ownership, follow-up, and execution
  • Drive consistency and accuracy in forecasting, reporting, and financial management processes, while strengthening financial controls, data quality, and governance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Freight & Duties Finance, building trusted partnerships and effectively navigate a complex, matrixed environment and coaching development of less experienced team members where needed
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decisions across multiple stakeholder groups

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant finance experience, or 5 years with an advanced degree
  • Fully proficient in Excel, able to work with large data sets in a (database) structured way showing strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business partnering
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, working independently and managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability with a track record of delivering commitments

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
