About the Team
We are looking for a dynamic leader who is as passionate as we are with helping Canadians succeed with credit. The Third-Party Management Team provides third party services utilizing integral governance practices to support Capital One's strategic objectives.
About the Role
As a Principal Associate, reporting to the Manager, Third Party Management, you are a first line execution leader who partners with business customers and stakeholders and management to ensure you and your team provide the best leverage to Capital One in the third party space while mitigating associated third party risks. This will include adherence to Capital One's Third-Party Risk Management policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
In addition, you have deep expertise and market knowledge within various categories to support our technology- focused business to ensure that our third-party arrangements provide Capital One with a competitive advantage through optimum pricing structures, strong negotiation skills and rationalization.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary third party manager in the execution of third party management activities to an assigned portfolio, accountable for supporting team members in building third party relationships, managing risks, negotiating contracts, and improving effectiveness
  • Ensure comprehensive oversight of all assigned third party relationships services
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including enterprise, customer, legal to support business customer outcomes
  • Implement strategic plans that align with business intent and market trends; leveraging broad market data, insights and competitor information to support informed decision making
  • Manage third party and business intent deliverables to the established policies, standards, procedures, and processes related to third party management
  • Participate in key management forums and contribute to continuous improvement and/or best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure that business objectives are met
  • Leverage industry knowledge and seasoned negotiation and influencing skills to support pricing and third-party service level commitments outcomes
  • Manage multiple priorities with various stakeholders with an acute appreciation for deadlines impacting speed to market for Capital One products or services
  • Be an effective change agent through the execution of of plans and fulfillment activities
  • Develops plans or strategies to drive innovation with the objective of creating efficiency

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 5+years of experience in either third party management/vendor management, supply chain, relationship management, sourcing or procurement within the financial services industry
  • At least 5+ years experience working in a cross-functional environment, ensuring business and stakeholder expectations are effectively managed
  • Strong market knowledge within different sourcing and supplier management categories relevant to the credit card business to include deep negotiation, communication, contract and influencing skills with the ability to optimize on pricing structures
  • Deep understanding of OSFI Guideline B-10, E-21
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, and utilize critical thinking to drive efficiency
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a track record of effectively influencing senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Technology or engineering preferred
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) designation considered to be an asset
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, driving alignment and results without direct authority

The expected annual salary range for this position is $108,900 to $124,300 . This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
