In this role, you will:
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers for domestic and cross-border TL and LTL, rail, road, air.
- Work closely with leaders and business development departments to develop compliant cost/price strategies and proposals
- Create customer proposals
- Maintain professional communication with Director throughout the RFQ process on cost strategies and ensure best pricing is presented in each proposal
- Research and track competitor pricing and market trends
- Maintain and improve existing pricing processes and costs
- Respond quickly to spot quotes
- Uploading rates and maintenance of rate programs in TMS software
- Be available after hours to assist with resolving pricing issues
- Grow and maintain existing and new carrier or customer relationships
- Preform work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years logistics experience in the transportation industry
- Experience in cross-border shipping, full-truckload as well as less-than-truckload
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong attention to details
- Large network and excellent knowledge of cross border and domestic carriers
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
- Effective teamwork skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
- Strong communication, customer service and computer skills
- Ability to build rapport with both carriers and customers
- MUST be proficient in Excel
