Job Description:

The Portfolio Manager is a strategic leader focused on driving the long-term profitable growth of assigned categories. They are responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive product strategies and marketing plans, grounded in thorough market analysis and deep Veterinary and Pet Owner understanding.

This role carries significant financial accountability, including managing budgets and achieving sales targets to influence the brands overall profitability. A key part of their duties includes leading cross-functional teams to manage new product launches and championing innovative approaches to business challenges, all while providing leadership on their Portfolio cross functionally.

*This role leads a portion of the Veterinary Portfolio.

What are we looking for?
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience supporting business strategy and commercial planning within a Sales or Marketing function.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Robust financial acumen, including experience analyzing commercial performance and managing budgets.
  • Strong data analytics skills with the ability to translate complex data sets into actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in Category or Brand Management to drive growth and market share is a strong asset.
  • Direct knowledge and experience within the Veterinary or Animal Health industry is highly preferred.
  • Prior Business-to-Business (B2B) marketing experience is considered a strong asset.
What will be your key responsibilities?

Business strategy & Financial acumen

  • Manage a portion of Portfolio and budget to meet sales and market share goals, with full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility.
  • Manages Portfolio budget and work towards continually improving profitability by influencing promotional and product levers.
  • Lead forecasting across Portfolio including innovation and promotions and track progress to make optimizations throughout the year.  
  • Collaborates with Scientific Communications team to identify appropriate tools and resources required for the Portfolio.
  • Collaborates with Vet Sales and cross-pillar teams to identify support required to maximizes impact of local initiatives.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute marketing plans, including leading recommendations on pricing, packaging, promotions and communication strategies for the veterinary community based on Market, Pet Owner, and competitive analysis.
  • Appropriate evaluation and analysis of performance of executed programs and communication campaigns to ascertain their effectiveness.
  • Conduct in depth Market research to gather Veterinary, Pet Owner insights to guide strategy.
  • Lead new product launches from start to finish. This includes managing the project, leading cross-functional teams, and creating a launch strategy for the veterinary market and any relevant Pet Owner communication requirements.
  • Work with North American and Global teams to align on product and packaging requirements.
