Position Overview

The Platform Manger is responsible for leading, supervising, and mentoring a team of Program Managers responsible for the successful execution of automotive programs from award through production and launch. This role provides strategic leadership, ensures consistent application of program management best practices, and drives cross-functional collaboration to achieve customer, quality, financial, and operational objectives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive leader with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams while managing complex customer programs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Program Managers to achieve program objectives and professional growth.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Provide guidance on program planning, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.

Program Oversight

  • Lead and support a team of Program Managers responsible for multiple automotive programs, ensuring each program achieves customer, quality, timing, and financial objectives throughout its entire lifecycle—from quotation and award through production and product end-of-life.
  • Ensure programs are executed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Monitor program performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate significant program issues and lead cross-functional resolution efforts.
  • Review and approve program plans, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.

Financial & Business Management

  • Monitor program financial performance, including budgets, profitability, and change management.
  • Support business case development and resource planning.
  • Ensure effective management of scope changes and customer change requests.

Process Improvement

  • Standardize and continuously improve program management processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Promote the use of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve launch performance, cost management, communication, and organizational effectiveness.

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be:

$84,000.00 - $134,000.00
