The Finance team is on the hunt for a Payroll Coordinator.  This role will be supporting the global offices by processing their payroll & benefits, while reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Payroll and working closely with our Talent & Finance teams.  With your payroll & accounting skills, you will ensure payrolls are processed on time and accurately for Canada, Barbados, USA, UK, Germany, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and others as required.  The best candidate for this role will be someone with a strong willingness to learn and positive attitude. Training will be provided for all global payroll processes
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage and review payroll processes ensuring payrolls are calculated correctly, taxes are deducted & remitted properly, journal entries balanced and payments processed on time

  • Coordinate payroll systems and processes under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Global Payroll

  • Ensure adherence to all company and payroll related policies and procedures as well as all applicable tax laws

  • Will be lead on processing payroll for Canada, USA, UK, Germany, Ireland, Barbados, & Australia.  Will be back-up on processing South Africa & Morocco Payroll

  • Tasks to be handled each month include processing payrolls (monthly, fortnightly, semi-monthly), monthly reconciliations with general ledger accounts, payroll taxes filings for each country, various monthly reports for financial analysis and other regulatory filings as needed

  • Preparation for year-end filings for Canada (T4’s) & South Africa (IRP5’s)

  • Continuous improvement of payroll processing & keeping process documentation up to date

  • Payroll analysis – month over month comparison reporting

  • Ad hoc requests from Employees & our Talent Department as needed

  • Additional accounting duties as required such as month end reporting, financial analysis & assistance with audit requirements

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Canadian (Dayforce) or International Payroll processing knowledge is an asset

  • Accounting experience: knowledge of accounting principles, mathematical calculations and general ledger cost accounting and allocations is needed

  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service

  • Able to maintain confidentiality and thrive in a fast-paced team environment

  • Strong Excel knowledge (Pivot Tables, vlookups, etc.) is required

  • Willingness to learn – both as part of a team and on your own

  • National Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or working towards certification; not required, but considered an asset

  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands

  • Self-motivated, goal oriented with a love of deadlines

  • Analytical with a strong attention to detail
