Job Description

Our Fortune 100 financial services client is seeking an Operational Risk Specialist to support the growth and development of debit card programs. This role will support the Retail Payment Operations and Risk function by contributing to the optimization of the organization’s debit card portfolio.

The Details:

  • Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (3 days per week onsite required)
  • Duration: Approximately a 12-month consulting project with the possibility of extension

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with the Debit Product Manager to analyze and manage payment transaction data; support the development and implementation of strategies that optimize the client’s debit portfolio performance, leading to increased client usage and adoption.
  • Support development and execution of product enhancement roadmap for the company’s debit portfolio.
  • Bring industry best practices and insights to contribute to the company’s debit product roadmap.
  • Analyze transaction data to identify patterns and trends related to the company’s debit card products, client transaction behaviors, and product optimization
  • Create dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined by the Debit Product Manager
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as product development, customer service, and risk management to implement authorization optimization strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to recommend opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.

Qualifications

  • PMP designation preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience within the payments domain and with demonstrated performance in project execution.
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry, including debit card networks, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools
  • Experience with payment gateway configuration and management
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) for data manipulation and analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
