Emerson Canada has an opening for an Office Coordinator reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, Emerson Canada Corporate. This position is responsible for receiving all incoming calls, greeting visitors and customers, answering inquiries, and directing calls and visitors to the appropriate department. This position is also responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing mail, as well as providing administrative support to various departments. 

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL: 

  • Welcome visitors and customers and direct them to the appropriate department or individual.

  • Answer telephone calls and handle, forward or take messages as appropriate.

  • Assist with administration of corporate programs.

  • Maintain daily tidiness of reception area, meeting rooms and coffee rooms.

  • Provide administrative support to the Corporate Leadership Team (i.e., organizing meetings, printing presentations, etc.)

  • Provide administrative support to Emerson Canada business units as necessary.

  • Process all ingoing and outgoing mail, receive all courier packages.

  • Ensure office supplies are organized and stocked, request orders as needed.

  • Assist with ordering catered lunches and refreshments for meetings.

  • Maintain and distribute the employee telephone extension list.

  • Maintain email distribution lists

  • Be the first point of contact for everything office related.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

  • Post-secondary education in a related field.

  • 2+ years’ experience in an administrative role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to think quickly in high-stress situations.

  • Professional, positive, can-do attitude.

  • Multitasker with strong attention to detail.

  • Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process.  The salary/pay range for this role is $45000 - $67,000, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
