Job Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Commercial Sales Lead, the National Account Manager (NAM) is a pivotal force in driving the Customer Team’s financial and market success. This high-impact role is entrusted with shaping and executing the customer and brand strategy for the Pain and Wellness portfolios, leveraging multi-year Joint Business Planning, dynamic cross-functional collaboration, and flawless execution of strategic initiatives.

As Haleon’s ambassador to Costco, the NAM will forge and nurture influential relationships with Costco’s Buying Teams. The NAM leads the charge in negotiating customer agreements that not only deliver on Haleon’s ambitious operating plans but also exceed customer expectations. By leading planning cycles, delivering compelling internal and external presentations, and fostering a culture of trust and partnership, the NAM unlocks value-creation opportunities and ensures the seamless execution of initiatives that propel both Haleon and Costco forward.

Deliver the Business Goals

  • Deliver Gross Sales, Net Sales, Profit, Consumption and $Share growth objectives for Customer, by brand
  • Drive and align Haleon’s strategic agenda with customer through effective multi-year Joint Business Planning
  • Demonstrate Best in Class account management, driving growth in Revenue and Net Margin to help achieve and exceed our goals
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan, with a clear path to goal achievement
  • Prioritize and allocate investment budgets against key business drivers; optimize ROI-based trade spend
  • Achieve new product distribution objectives for assigned categories
  • Own and support managing Joint Business Plans. Build strategies that support both Haleon Brand and JBP goals
  • Ability to be a successful sales leader, acting as the business leader including cross-functional team leadership, financial and analytical acumen
  • Lead and influence through sales presentations, business reviews, and category updates using advanced data and data analytics
  • Execute Haleon brand & Shopper-based in-store strategies with excellence (shelving, distribution, promotion, pricing)

Develop the Customer Relationship

  • Develop exceptional customer relationships consistent with Haleon core values of trust and respect
  • Be viewed as the category and shopper expert and partner of choice for customer category key initiatives
  • Effectively network up and across the customer to ensure access to key decision makers
  • Set objectives to be #1 in customer service
  • Works with internal cross-functional partners in Demand Planning, Shopper Insights, Supply Chain, and product marketing teams to develop sales goals and achieve specified levels of business performance accuracy

Leverage the Team

  • Role model collaboration as a key success behavior to achieve brand, shopper, and customer goals
  • Be the voice of Customer, lead and communicate important initiatives and needs of the customer to deliver collaborative objectives
  • Partner with Sales Strategy to ensure Customer needs are met and embedded in brand plans
  • Partner with Category Management, Shopper Marketing and Insights to drive a Shoppercentric customer agenda
  • Integrate Net Revenue Management guidance into promotion ROI and trade negotiation plans
  • Partner with Sales Finance Team to measure impact of investment options against P&L priorities
  • Partner with Replenishment Analyst to set and achieve #1 in customer service and on shelf availability goals

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Valid driver's license*
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years direct selling experience with Costco in CPG or OTC
  • 5+ years of retail account management and development experience
  • Experience with Circana, Nielsen, PBI

* This position requires the employee to drive routinely on company business and allows for the provision of a company-leased vehicle. To be eligible for this position and a company vehicle, Haleon will need to obtain acceptable results from a license verification inquiry and drivers abstract review against its safe driver program requirements. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communicator across different mediums (oral, written, face-to-face, and remotely via available and new technology
  • Proven ability to Influence and collaborate effectively as part of a team and with key stakeholders
  • Strong financial acumen, budget management skills, and proficiency in forecasting knowledge
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Excellent persuasive selling skills
  • Excellent Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Power BI)
