Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Microbiology Analyst - Level 1 to join our team in Mississauga, Canada. In this position, you will play a crucial role in conducting microbiological analyses and supporting our laboratory operations.

  • Perform various microbiological tests and analyses on samples using standard laboratory techniques
  • Prepare culture media, reagents, and other materials required for microbiological testing
  • Perform microbiological tests for finished products and raw materials not limited to MLT, Bioburden, Endotoxin testing, Antibiotic Potency Assay, AET, Sterility Testing and Disinfectant Studies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory activities and test results
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
  • Assist in the development and optimization of microbiological testing methods
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized laboratory environment
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines
  • Participate in data analysis and interpretation of test results
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external use

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in microbiology or a related field (internships or academic research experience is valuable)
  • Proficiency in microbiology laboratory techniques, including aseptic techniques and microscopy
  • Proficiency with the following instruments: autoclave, incubator, water bath, biohazard hood, filtration apparatus, balance, pH meter
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain organized records
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
  • Knowledge of microbiology principles and practices
  • Understanding of quality control procedures in microbiology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and methodologies

Additional Information

Salary: $28.00 - $33.00/Hour
