Job DescriptionThe Buildings + Places division of AECOM is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Graduate for employment in a new position based out of the Markham, ON office.
This role is expected to begin for either January or May 2027.
Major Responsibilities:
- A key member of the mechanical design team participating in design and construction administration of various facilities, including occasional out-of-town travel;
- Design of Plumbing, Fire Protection and HVAC systems;
- Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry programs (i.e. Carrier HAP);
- Ability to use and create excel spreadsheets to assist with calculations and analysis;
- Assist with the design and drafting of mechanical systems in 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation;
- Assist with the design and drafting of mechanical systems in 3D such as REVIT;
- Must be able to prepare written reports and deliver results in a clear manner to technical or non-technical persons;
- Strong communication skills, spoken and written;
- Experienced at using computers and utilizing Windows, e-mail, internet, MS Word, and Excel;
- Able to work independently or as part of a team;
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer;
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision;
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Minimum Requirements:
- Will be completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior experience working for a consulting engineering firm a strong asset
- Knowledge of REVIT and/or AutoCAD considered a strong asset
- PWGSC/PSPC - Level II Secret Clearance preferred for Federal Projects.
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
