Designs and validates mechanical components and systems supporting sales, engineering, and manufacturing. Responsibilities include creating drawings, schematics, bills of materials, calculations, simulations, and design documentation; selecting materials; managing drawing revisions; reviewing junior designers’ work; maintaining ISO, ASME, API, and QA requirements; and performing final engineering and quality checks before product shipment. The role requires advanced manufacturing knowledge and valve design experience.

Position Overview:
Under moderate to broad direction, can execute designs to assist in developing ideas necessary for sales, engineering, and manufacturing within the company. This includes producing safe, technically accurate, and cost-effective designs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support sales, manufacturing, and engineering efforts by creating all necessary drawings, designs, and schematics
- Perform necessary calculations and material selection to ensure compliance with quality assurance (QA), sales, and customer requirements
- Check designs and verify all calculations to minimize errors, along with reviewing junior designers/engineers work to ensure high quality
- Perform and/or evaluate simulations, calculations, etc. to test and validate designs, documentation as required
- Manage drawing database – new drawings, revisions, distribution, and archiving
- Create design files, Bill of Materials, calculations/calculators as required
- Maintain and update, as needed, all ISO, ASME, API, and other QA requirements
- Continual expansion of knowledge pertaining to engineering and design quality standards and necessary documentation within engineering department
- Perform final engineering and QA checks prior to shipment of product to ensure compliance with sales, engineering, and QA requirements
- May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience, with advanced manufacturing experience/knowledge. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in valve design required
