Our Marketing and Communications team aspires to drive innovation and be the industry leader in client engagement. Our Digital Marketing team serves as an internal agency for B2C and B2B lines of business across the broader Integrated Marketing department, as well as supports priority enterprise initiatives, to bring marketing communications to life across digital channels. This role sits on the Marketing Automation team within Digital Marketing, delivering email programs and campaigns.

We are searching for technical experience and expertise in SFMC to help drive ongoing modernization and innovation in our email marketing and marketing automation practice. You will work on a team of three Marketing Automation Consultants reporting to the Manager, Marketing Automation.

How you will create impact: 
  • End-to-end email marketing campaign management, including: email development utilizing pre-built, modular templates; custom personalization utilizing personalization strings, AMPscript, and dynamic content; segmentation and mailing Data Extension (DE) setup utilizing SQL, Automation Studio, and filters; QA testing utilizing Litmus Proof, test DEs, test sends, and subscriber previews; scheduling and deployment with the appropriate sender profiles and configurations; deliverability monitoring and resolution; and post campaign reporting and analytics.
  • Capture functional and technical requirements and design/wireframe and build automated lifecycle programs (e.g., onboarding, lead nurture, refer-a-friend, etc.) in Journey Builder. Includes multi-touchpoint, multi-activity journeys encompassing: Email Activities, Ad Audience/Advertising Campaign Activities, Personalization Activities, Split and Join Activities, Path Optimizer Test Activities, Wait Activities, Contact Update Activities, and Sales Cloud Activities.
  • Build triggered email campaigns and programs based on lead form submission events, user interactions, and data signals.
  • Manage and deliver on email marketing/marketing automation initiatives for your assigned LOBs, partnering with Marketing Automation team members to deliver comprehensive recommendations that seamlessly marry strategy with technical capabilities and execution.
  • Set up CloudPages-hosted lead forms and landing pages using pre-built templates.
  • Work with data and technology teams to integrate new fields in SFMC from batch feeds, list uploads, and Sales Cloud via Marketing Cloud Connect (MCC) to unlock communication opportunities and enhance targeting/segmentation and personalization capabilities.
  • Email template iterations: modify existing/build new static and dynamic custom modules/content blocks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in strategic planning/consultation, creative/content reviews, and retrospectives with multiple stakeholders in the room, including: senior stakeholders, marketing Consultants and Specialists, creative designers, copywriters, product leads, project leads/managers, analysts, and developers.
  • Curate and maintain an SQL and AMPscript code snippet reference library.
  • Create and maintain documentation of workflow processes and marketing automations.
To join our team:  
  • 2-5 years of experience working within SFMC in a similar role.
  • A college diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science/Programming, or Engineering.
  • Experience building automated and triggered communications in Journey Builder and Automation Studio.
  • Experience writing and modifying SQL queries in SFMC.
  • Experience writing and modifying AMPscript for personalization and update activities.
  • Experience executing Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud Advertising (Advertising Studio), and Marketing Cloud Personalization (Personalization Studio) activities in SFMC.
  • Working knowledge of HTML.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislations and regulations (e.g., CASL, PIPEDA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR), email marketing best practices, deliverability, and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
  • SFMC certification(s) (e.g., Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Administrator, Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Consultant) is an advantage.

  • Continuously develop technical know-how in SFMC, stay current with new SFMC feature releases and marketing automation trends, and proactively assess current state to recommend and implement optimizations and standardizations.
  • Understand the unique needs, objectives, and challenges of multiple B2C and B2B lines of business to make appropriate recommendations and develop customized solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business/marketing and technical languages bi-directionally.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate for elevated outcomes.
  • Support technical upskilling of Marketing Automation team members, while developing your strategic marketing/business acumen through peer learning.
  • Champion relevant legislations and regulations (e.g., CASL, PIPEDA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR), best practices, deliverability, and the customer experience.
  • Challenge existing ways of thinking/working when appropriate.

Expected salary range $72,847.00 to $121,411.00

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.​​

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
