Job Summary

As the Market Development Manager, you will lead the growth and market expansion of IPEX’s System 1738 flue gas venting portfolio across the U.S. market. This highly visible leadership role combines market strategy, industry advocacy, technical expertise, and team leadership to drive awareness, specification, and adoption of UL 1738-compliant venting solutions.

You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Innovation, and Supply Chain teams while building strong relationships with engineers, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), distributors, contractors, and industry organizations. Through strategic engagement and industry influence, you will help shape market acceptance, identify growth opportunities, and support the long-term success of IPEX’s flue gas venting business.

This position requires travel of up to 50% across North America.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the market development strategy for the System 1738 portfolio, driving specification, adoption, market penetration, and profitable growth across targeted regions and customer segments
  • Serve as the voice of the market by cultivating strong relationships with customers, engineers, AHJs, distributors, and end users, translating market insights into product strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and strengthening IPEX’s competitive differentiation
  • Partner closely with the MIP Sales team to build and convert a strong project and specification pipeline, while strengthening sales and distribution channels across plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC markets
  • Own competitive and pricing intelligence, maintaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape to inform positioning, pricing strategies, and regional sales execution
  • Lead engagement with codes, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to support the advancement and adoption of UL 1738 standards and enhance IPEX’s industry presence
  • Act as the senior technical resource for the product portfolio by delivering training, education, and application support to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor & analyze market performance, sales trends, competitive activity, and pricing strategies to guide forecasting, business planning, and targeted growth initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, Innovation, Supply Chain, and other business partners to ensure successful commercialization and execution of strategic objectives
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline; advanced technical education is an asset
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in market development, business development, product management, or technical sales within industrial, building products, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC or related markets
  • Demonstrated success launching, scaling, or expanding products within regulated or specification-driven markets, including influencing codes, standards, or regulatory adoption (e.g., UL, ASTM, CSA, ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA)
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence engineers, distributors, contractors, AHJs, end users, and other key decision-makers
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in market assessment, segmentation, growth planning, competitive analysis, pricing and go-to-market strategies
  • Analytical and customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate market insights into product strategy, evaluate business performance, forecast demand, and identify growth opportunities
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to engage and influence senior-level audiences

The compensation for this position is between $121,000 and 151,300 CAN annually, based on experience and qualifications.
