Join Moneris as a technology leader responsible for shaping the future of payment acceptance solutions. You will lead skilled software development teams, define platform architecture and strategy, and oversee the delivery of secure, innovative payment products across POS, mobile, and unattended payment environments. This role is ideal for a leader who combines deep technical expertise, payment industry knowledge, and a passion for building high-performing teams.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Software Development and Architecture.

Posting Type: Replacement.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $186,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do 

• Lead and develop a team of software development professionals responsible for the delivery of payment products across POS terminals, mobile solutions, pinpads, and unattended payment devices.

• Oversee the full software development lifecycle for multiple projects, including requirements definition, solution design, development, testing, integration, and release management.
• Define and govern platform architecture, review solution designs, and ensure alignment with technical standards, product architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate business and technical requirements, make design decisions, and deliver iterative product enhancements.
• Manage the platform roadmap and backlog, prioritize initiatives, and sponsor technology improvements that enhance platform capabilities and long-term scalability.
• Communicate technical solutions and architectural decisions to both business and technical audiences to build alignment and support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with hardware and software vendors and coordinate work across distributed teams to deliver components and solutions on schedule.
• Ensure payment products comply with security, regulatory, and industry standards, including EMV and PCI requirements.
• Plan and manage budgets, resources, and delivery schedules to support strategic roadmap objectives.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring 

Required skills and experience  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in system-level software development and software architecture.

• 5+ years of experience within the payments industry.

• 3+ years of technical leadership and/or people management experience.
• Experience managing remote teams and distributed software delivery.

• Proficiency in Java and C/C++ software development for Android, mobile applications, and embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience working with EMV and PCI standards.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.

Experience that would set you apart 

• Experience with Kotlin and React Native mobile application development.
