The Mission

We are seeking a talented Manager of Project Management to join and help lead our growing Cloud Project Management team. The right candidate can manage a team of Project Managers leveraging their expert-level project management experience to enable their team to successfully execute engagements for all customers. The candidate is passionate about working with our customers, partners, and employees to drive the business forward.   Your mission will be to oversee and enable a team of Project Managers to ensure overall project governance and standards are being met through the lens of best in class customer experience.

As a Manager of Project Management, you will be expected to focus on growth and success of the team as well as contributions to the practice.

Your Assignment

  • Manage a team of six to eight (6-8) Project Managers
  • Perform interviews for potential candidates
  • Responsible for successful onboarding, guidance and coaching for each direct report
  • Perform frequent 1:1s with your direct reports and enable their career development
  • Ensure the success of your team in completing engagements while meeting revenue targets, billable utilization and delivering business outcomes with a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor performance of team members and provide timely feedback and development assistance
  • Work with the Project Management leadership to help align and manage goals and lead Caylent initiatives
  • Serve as an Project Manager for at least one Project while managing your team to assist in process improvement opportunities
  • Develop and improve operational practices, utilization KPIs and processes as needed


Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in managing a consulting or project management team of direct reports
  • 10+ years in a client-facing project management role in the technical industry that consist of 5 or more people and over $1,000,000 budget
  • Experience with infrastructure modernization, application development and/or data engineering disciplines
  • Extensive knowledge of project management disciplines, methodologies and tools including Project Management and/or Agile Certification(s)
  • Expertise in forecasting and budgeting management to drive accuracy in revenue projections to realization with ability to train and coach others 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to executives and hold performance conversations with direct reports
  • Ability to develop processes, templates and standards around project management best practices
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, manage team and portfolio of engagements to ensure they are executed with excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record in Employee Engagement and Performance as well as Talent Management
  • Knowledge or awareness or HR processes and practices
  • Experience managing projects involving AWS cloud services, or other cloud service providers.

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is CAD 191,400 - CAD 226,200 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.
