As a Team Leader, you will manage part of the existing team while undertaking innovative and stimulating projects in the field of industrial processes. Under the supervision of the Director of Manufacturing Processes and Handling, you will play a technical role (70%) and a management role (30%) in the execution of our various projects.
From a management perspective:
- Coordinate and plan the execution of projects regarding the functions of employees, partners, and subcontractors.
- Foster talent development and engage your team by creating a positive and motivating work environment.
- Determine team priorities to ensure task completion, performance, and proper functioning.
- Assign team resources to projects according to these priorities.
- Participate in decision-making based on organizational policies, procedures, business plans, and directives from your superior.
- Actively participate in the selection, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety rules in effect at AtkinsRéalis and at client sites.
- Contribute to the growth of the organization, which is actively involved in various industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
- Act as a coach and trainer for project team members.
From a technical perspective, you will:
- Act as project manager and/or discipline lead in multidisciplinary projects.
- Determine specific project needs, establish the scope of work, and identify project phases and timelines.
- Develop and maintain business relationships and participate in the estimation and preparation of service proposals.
- Perform design and calculations related to project needs.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and other engineering documents.
- Provide technical support to the team and clients.
- Assist clients in making strategic decisions.
- Support and advise junior and intermediate engineers facing technical challenges.
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Process Engineering, Process Engineering, or related fields.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience, including 3 years in project and/or team management.
- Experience in an engineering firm.
- Registered member of Engineers in Quebec or Ontario.
- Knowledge of industrial, agro-food, pharmaceutical standards, and Canadian and Quebec codes and regulations.
- Ability to liaise and work directly with clients, including experience in requirements gathering and on-site commissioning.
- Ability to meet specified budgets, timelines, and quality requirements of projects and the company.
- Proficiency in Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID), and Heat and Material Balances (HMB).
- Knowledge and experience in risk studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What-If).
- Demonstrate both technical and managerial leadership.
- Communication and influence skills in a matrix organization.
