ROLE PURPOSE:

Lead Canada marketing operations, building the processes, calendars, budget discipline, performance routines, and cross-functional coordination needed for marketing plans to move efficiently from strategy to execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own marketing operating routines, calendars, governance, approvals, budget tracking, and project-management standards.
  • Work with global and regional team to adapt and implement ways of working, tools and capabilities to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-brand planning timelines, status reporting, and issue escalation with brand, Sales, Finance, Legal, Supply, and agency partners.
  • Improve marketing process discipline, documentation, agency onboarding, PO/invoice flows, asset management, and compliance routines.
  • Lead the Marketing Operations Analyst and build team capability in process, tools, data, and execution excellence.
  • Identify bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities to simplify work and improve speed-to-market.
  • Ensure responsible marketing, procurement, and approval standards are embedded in ways of working.

Key Outputs:

  • Marketing calendar, operating cadence, and governance tools.
  • Budget, PO, invoice, agency, and project trackers.
  • Portfolio status reports, action logs, and leadership materials.
  • Process improvements and documented ways of working.
  • Marketing compliance and approval tracking outputs.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 8+ years of marketing operations, project management, business operations, commercial operations, or agency operations experience.
  • Strong process, planning, budget, systems, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience supporting complex portfolios, agencies, and approval workflows.
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, collaboration, and project-tracking capability.
  • People leadership or coaching experience preferred.

Function: Sales - Chain Retail / Category Management

Manager: Sales Director, Chain Retail

ROLE PURPOSE:

Provide category management support for Chain Retail customers, using shopper, category, assortment, space, and performance insight to help customers grow their categories and improve planograms while advancing Diageo Canada priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop category-management recommendations for chain retail customers (& LCB’s where required), including assortment, planogram, space, pricing, and promotional opportunities.
  • Analyze category, shopper, customer, competitive, and performance data to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Partner with KAMs and Sales Director, Chain Retail to support national/private retail HQ conversations and customer planning.
  • Build customer-facing category selling stories, presentations, and recommendations that support category growth and Diageo objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial Strategy, RGM, Analytics, and broker networks on category priorities and execution standards.
  • Track impact of planogram, assortment, and category recommendations and incorporate learning into future work.
  • Stay current on regulatory and retail changes affecting private retail, RTD/beer, spirits, and category dynamics.

Key Outputs:

  • Customer category reviews, planogram recommendations, and assortment analyses.
  • Shopper/category insights and customer-facing selling stories.
  • Category growth plans aligned with chain retail priorities.
  • Performance tracking and post-implementation learning.
  • Tools and templates for KAM category conversations.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 6+ years of category management, customer insights, shopper insights, sales strategy, or retail analytics experience.
  • Strong data analysis, story-building, planogram/assortment, and customer presentation skills.
  • Experience with chain retail, grocery, convenience, club, or private retail customers preferred.
  • Experience with Nielsen, Dunnhumby, and large data sets
  • Ability to partner with KAMs, Marketing, CSP, RGM, and external customers.
  • Understanding of regulated beverage alcohol or CPG categories preferred.

Working with Us

Compensation Range: $86,250.00 CAD - $136,250.00 CAD
