Manager, Investment and Impact - 14 Month Maternity Leave Contract
The Manager , Investment and Impact, will play a key role in Jumpstart’s commitment to strengthening community sport across Canada, and in ensuring all kids have an opportunity to realize the benefits of participating in sport and play.
Reporting to the AVP of Community Impact, the Manager of Investment and Impact will oversee Jumpstart's granting process, due diligence, and governance. This role plays a key role in leading Jumpstart’s needs-led granting, including listening, responding and incorporating community need into process and procedure.
What you will do:-
Lead Jumpstart's grant investment portfolio, overseeing the review, assessment, due diligence, approval, and governance processes for grant applications to ensure investments align with organizational priorities, community needs, and intended impact outcomes.
Manage and optimize grant operations and systems, including the grant management platform, application processes, funding workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, consistency, accountability, and the grantee experience.
Lead Jumpstart's grant data and reporting strategy in support of the organization's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework, ensuring grant investment and impact data is effectively collected, analyzed, and reported.
Provide financial oversight of the investment portfolio, managing grant budgets, monitoring funding allocations and expenditures, supporting forecasting and reporting activities, and ensuring investments are delivered within approved financial parameters.
Partner cross-functionally to strengthen investment strategies, enhance reporting capabilities, and advance organizational objectives.
Leverage data and stakeholder insights to identify trends, assess community needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend opportunities to maximize the reach, equity, and impact of Jumpstart's investments.
Support governance, risk management, and reporting, ensuring grant-making activities comply with organizational policies, standards, and funding requirements, while preparing insights, recommendations, and reports for senior leadership and Board-level discussions.
Champion continuous learning and community engagement, collaborating with Relationship Managers, grantees, and sector partners to gather feedback, share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and inform future investment priorities.
Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development opportunities while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and impact.
What you bring:-
Proven experience in grant management or a related field.
Strong understanding of grant due diligence and governance practices.
Excellent project management skills with a focus on process improvement.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Strong leadership capabilities.

Broadband Salary Range: 41.00 - 67.00 CAD Hourly
Our typical hiring range is between 56.42 - 62.00 CAD hourly. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements
