The Technology Finance team provides financial advice and comprehensive financial data, insights, and reports to all areas of Global Technology, including the Global CIO and CIO Leadership teams. Acting as trusted finance advisors, they support business objectives and maintain expense policies and accounting systems while ensuring a strong internal control environment for risk management. Their mandate spans globally across all Manulife business divisions, products, and segments. The Manager of GA and GWAM IT Finance plays a crucial role in overseeing financial budget preparation, forecasting, analysis, and managing financial operations while driving transformation activities. This role is essential in supporting the General Accounts and Global Wealth Asset Management IT functions to achieve financial objectives and enhance operational efficiency.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial management and reporting for GA and GWAM IT business units, including month-end, annual planning, and monthly forecasting activities.

  • Conduct in-depth analyses to provide insights on financial performance, expense management, and savings, including run rate predictions and cost-benefit analyses.

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting across business divisions, documenting and communicating financial risks and opportunities.

  • Prepare and present regular expense updates to Leadership Teams, including monthly reporting packages and budget presentations.

  • Serve as the primary contact for financial matters with GA and GWAM Segment and Business Divisions, fostering strong relationships for effective communication.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and information quality, supporting the Expense Finance in Transformation program.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify optimization opportunities, employing AI and data models to enhance financial analysis and manage large data sets for actionable insights.

Required Qualifications:

  • Financial planning and analysis experience, preferably within an IT function.

  • Strong knowledge of business practices, tools, controls, and accounting/audit principles.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.

  • Understanding AI models and their associated tools is considered an asset.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with collaborators to support critical initiatives.

  • Great teammate, collaborative, self-starter, well-organized, innovative, and high level of initiative.

  • Ability to influence others in aligning to a new vision; motivate others to accept progress and change.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.

  • Professional designation (MBA/CPA) preferred with 5+ years of related experience.

Salary range is expected to be between

$86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CAD
