About the Role

Enercare is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join its Finance team. The Manager will act as a key finance partner to assigned products and business portfolios, providing financial leadership, performance insights and decision support. Working closely with Product, Sales, Operations, Accounting, Corporate Finance and other Finance teams, the Manager will develop a strong understanding of the operational and financial drivers of the business and translate results into actionable recommendations for senior leadership. This is a hands-on FP&A leadership role requiring strong analytical capabilities, financial judgment and communication skills. The successful candidate will move beyond reporting results to explain why performance is changing, what it means for the outlook and what actions should be taken in response.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Portfolio Performance

  • Act as the primary finance partner for assigned products and business portfolios, providing financial leadership and insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Own the monthly financial performance review for assigned portfolios, including P&L results, operational KPIs, budget and forecast variances, and the identification of key performance drivers.
  • Lead components of the monthly forecasting and financial outlook process, partnering with Finance and business stakeholders to develop robust assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and improve forecast accuracy and accountability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned businesses and products, including the operational drivers of revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, capital investment and cash flow.
  • Develop and maintain performance frameworks that connect P&L results with volume, continuity, unit economics and other relevant operational KPIs.
  • Partner with Accounting and business teams to understand financial-data flows, accounting treatment and the underlying drivers of reported results.
  • Identify areas of underperformance and work with business partners to develop recommendations and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Clearly communicate financial performance, outlook, risks, opportunities and recommendations to senior Finance and business stakeholders.

Business Partnership, Financial Modeling & Decision Support

  • Partner closely with Product, Sales, Operations and other business leaders to understand performance, challenge assumptions and provide actionable financial recommendations.
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support new products, growth initiatives, project investments, and changes to existing business models.
  • Lead the development and evaluation of internal business cases, including financial-return assessments using metrics such as IRR and NPV.
  • Analyze financial and operational trends to identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and investment returns.
  • Translate complex financial and operational information into concise, decision-useful insights for Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
  • Provide financial support for strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests from senior management.

Strategic Planning & Executive Reporting

  • Lead key components of the annual budget and long-range strategic planning processes, including financial modeling, assumption development and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare and present executive-ready materials that clearly communicate financial performance, outlook, key business drivers and recommended actions.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting for senior leadership, the Board and other financial stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inputs from Finance and business partners and ensure consistency, accuracy and clarity across financial analyses, reporting and supporting commentary.

Process Improvement & Financial Analytics

  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, automate and strengthen FP&A processes, financial models and management reporting.
  • Partner with Finance, business teams and data and analytics resources to improve KPI reporting, reduce manual processes and establish reliable sources of financial and operational information.
  • Develop appropriate controls, reconciliations and validation checks to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Improve the quality, consistency and scalability of FP&A analyses, reporting and workflows.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development to Senior Financial Analysts and other team members.
  • Review analyses, forecasts and reporting prepared by team members, ensuring deliverables are accurate, insightful and appropriate for senior audiences.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability for the quality and timely completion of overall deliverables.
  • Develop the team’s financial, analytical and business-partnering capabilities and promote a collaborative, accountable and high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting or finance designation, such as a CPA, CFA, MBA, or MFin strongly preferred.
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory, Audit or a related finance discipline.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L drivers and financial-performance analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and management reporting.
  • Advanced Excel and financial-modeling capabilities, including experience developing business cases and evaluating investments using metrics such as IRR and NPV is considered an asset.
  • Experience preparing and presenting materials for senior leadership, Boards, or other senior stakeholder groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, decision-useful insights.
  • Strong business-partnering and relationship-building skills across Finance and operational teams.
  • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and experience partnering with financial accounting teams are considered assets.
  • Experience with Power BI and financial planning or reporting systems is considered an asset.
