Job Description:

We’re seeking a Manager Of Financial Accounting to lead the high-performing team responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement of financial accounting processes for TJX Canada. The Manager Of provides guidance, removes roadblocks, and partners closely with senior leadership, Global Accounting, and cross-functional business partners. Oversees month-end activities, drives accounting initiatives, and supports business decision-making. What You’ll Do:

  • Establish and execute the long-term strategy of the Financial Accounting department, including internal controls, financial reporting and process improvements to meet business objectives.

  • Lead the development, implementation, and execution of accounting and reporting initiatives, including evaluating and driving opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Oversee regular accounting closing processes (monthly, quarterly, annual) for divisional financial statements preparation; ensure internal and SOX controls are maintained and updated.

  • Provide accounting guidance and subject-matter expertise to business partners and finance teams.

  • Lead or participate in cross-divisional accounting processes and initiatives with Global Accounting teams; collaborate with accounting leaders across divisions to drive global consistency in practices, reporting and policy application.

  • Recruit, coach, and develop Associates through ongoing performance management, feedback, development discussions, and development planning; foster engagement and build a strong pipeline of promotable talent who demonstrate the TJX Leadership, Cultural and Financial competencies.

  • Provide advice and guidance to their team in the resolution of issues.                                                 

  • Establish strong partnerships with business partners (i.e., other areas of Finance, Merchants, Planning, Logistics, Distribution Centre) ensuring open communication and providing updates on issues and initiatives to ensure successful operation and mitigate risks.

About You:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive financial accounting experience, including four (4) years of people leadership experience.

  • Post secondary education in a related field/discipline.

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to act as a collaborative business partner, consult with senior management, and positively influence individuals to act in the best interest of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; able to build and develop relationships with peers, partners and leaders, creatively challenge current thinking and resolve conflicts that arise.

  • Excellent management skills include organizational and time management ability, negotiation and facilitation skills; the ability to balance and prioritize multiple initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated active listening ability,

  • Excellent people management skills include coaching, providing guidance, conducting performance evaluations, and providing regular feedback to the team.

Salary Range: $ 118,709.60-$168,709.60 /year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
