Manager, External Communications and Editorial Channels

The Impact You Will Make in This Role
As Manager, External Communications and Editorial Channels, you will help shape how Solventum communicates with external audiences and employees through clear, credible and consistent storytelling. This role serves as a communications generalist with defined ownership of external public relations execution and enterprise editorial channels that support both internal and external engagement.
You will focus on translating enterprise priorities, external context and leadership perspectives into high quality communications across earned media and core internal channels. Working in close partnership with marketing, content strategy and internal communications teams, you will ensure Solventum’s story is told accurately, thoughtfully and in the moments that matter most.
Here you will make an impact by supporting:
Enterprise Editorial and Communications Execution
- Owning enterprise editorial execution for external and internal communications in alignment with Solventum’s brand narrative and strategic priorities
- Identifying and developing editorial opportunities that support corporate reputation, thought leadership and employee understanding
External Communications and Media Relations
- Executing public relations activities that support Solventum’s enterprise story through earned media and external storytelling
- Writing and editing press releases, statements, articles, talking points and executive messaging
- Managing incoming media inquiries and supporting proactive pitching in partnership with senior communications leaders
- Monitoring media coverage and external conversations to inform messaging and identify opportunities or risks
Internal Editorial Channels and Content Flow
- Owning strategy and day to day execution for key enterprise internal communications channels including the intranet, email distribution tools and video content platforms
- Creating and publishing clear, engaging internal communications that help employees understand enterprise priorities, external dynamics and leadership perspectives
- Managing internal editorial planning and cadence to ensure consistency, relevance and effective channel use
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to translate complex or sensitive topics into accessible employee communications
Content Development and Storytelling
- Developing written and visual content that brings Solventum’s impact to life for internal and external audiences
- Leveraging AI enabled writing and video tools to improve efficiency, quality and storytelling formats
- Collaborating with content strategy, social media and marketing teams to align messaging while maintaining clear role boundaries
Cross Functional and Agency Partnership
- Partnering with internal teams and external agencies to support communications initiatives and execution
- Supporting external events and speaking opportunities through messaging development and spokesperson preparation
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field
- AND
- Eight or more years of experience in public relations, corporate communications or related roles
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
- Experience managing internal communications channels and editorial processes
- Experience supporting media relations and external communications in a regulated environment
- Comfort working across internal and external communications priorities in a fast paced environment
- Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
- Experience in healthcare, medtech or similar industries
