As Manager, Canada Marketing Expenses, you will play a key role in helping Marketing leaders make informed business decisions through meaningful financial insights and expense management. Reporting to the AVP, Marketing Expense Management, you will lead the planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of marketing expenses across Canada. You will partner closely with business leaders and their teams, delivering clear and actionable financial information, driving accountability for expense performance, and supporting the achievement of business objectives. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex financial data into compelling insights that influence decision-making.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to functional leaders by delivering insightful financial reporting, actionable analysis, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and effective expense management.

  • Analyze and communicate consolidated expense performance, outlook, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations that influence business decisions and drive financial outcomes.

  • Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of the accounting for expenses including company policies and sufficient business knowledge to be able to verify and analyze information under review.

  • Play a key role on the Expense Management leadership team by driving process improvements, best practices, and the adoption of AI and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, reporting, and decision-making.

  • Use appropriate judgment in dealing with unexpected issues and requests, demonstrating an ability to prioritize work, and balance resource requirements to achieve solutions.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high-performance teamwork by encouraging creativity and the adoption of data, automation, and AI capabilities.

  • Lead opportunities to collaborate across teams to innovate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Model and encourage collaborative team behaviours (Get it done together, Share your humanity).

  • Expand networks and relationships across the supported business areas and Finance teams, leveraging these partnerships to deliver business results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree (business, economics or finance preferred).

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in progressive accounting roles.

  • Professional accounting designation or MBA or equivalent experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate negotiate and influence effectively.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, particularly around using sound, independent judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Results oriented, able to manage expectations, work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality.

  • Strong business acumen with ability to communicate complex concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner (written and verbal).

  • Curiosity and willingness to embrace emerging technologies, including AI, automation, and data analytics, with the ability to identify practical business applications. Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools is considered an asset.

  • Skills related to MS Office in particular Excel and Power BI. Familiarity with Lawson and Anaplan would be an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,900.00 CAD - $142,900.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
